"The JACKY Bins have allowed us to make the needed and necessary next step in efficiency and flow to our roasting process. We were using a 4lb hand scoop to scoop nearly 11,000lbs of green beans a week! The JACKY Bins are welcomed new members to our Roasting Team and have increased our efficiency and our team's morale!"

Driven by the phrase Fuel Your Story, the tale behind Black Rock Coffee in Portland (Oregon, USA) is one of success and intrigue. Testimony to the power of believing in a mission and cause, Black Rock Coffee's mission is to fuel the story of every customer they are a part of through caffeine, connection, and community.

From their humble beginnings in 2008, Black Rock Coffee has grown at an exponential rate. In just 13 years they have opened over 80 retail café/drive thru locations in 7 different US states and have employed more than 750 staff. The business continues to grow and thrive – a testament to the quality of the coffee that is produced by their roasting team!

Black Rock Roasting Co., the roasting division of Black Rock Coffee Bar, is the heart of the Black Rock creature – pumping coffee out to every valued location and keeping the flow healthy. With such rapid growth in such a comparatively short time and space, the team from the roastery soon needed a better way to store and dispense their green coffee beans during their daily roasting.

Having looked to JACKY Bins for an answer, the JACKY Bins team was able to devise a storage solution that fulfilled the needs of the roastery, utilising the side discharging JACKY Bins to store and discharge the green beans. Before long, pallet racking was installed in the roasting space to accommodate a family of JACKY Bins.

The inclusion of JACKY Bins into the roasting area has substantially reduced the manual handling tasks which were previously performed on a daily basis. Tasks such as lifting and moving heavy sacks, repeated bending and scooping, and constant ‘keeping sacks tidy’ are now, thankfully, a distant memory. Most importantly, the speed at which the daily chores can be performed is much higher, providing better working economies as well as reduced risk.
